My daughter and I arrived early to a hike at Red Clay State Park, an hour before our cub scout pack had arrived. As we wandered around on the trail, I was struck by how the morning light was illuminating the interested bark of these two tall trees that sat along the bank of a small creek. I snapped a photo, which I then used as reference in creating this piece. It was my largest work to date at that time, and I enjoyed the challenge of painting at this scale.
