It was a warm winter day, but my family did not want to venture outside, so I took myself to a local greenway to paint. I frequently walked on this path and recently construction crews had begun building a large roadway over top of it. I was struck by how otherworldly this concreate support pillar looked next to the creek and the trees, so I painted this over the course of two hours on location (plein air). A lovely heron was fishing next to me, so I interested it into the picture as well.
