My parents and my daughter woke up early one morning during our trip to the beach to collect seashells, so I decided to join them and do a plein air painting of the beautiful sunrise over the sand dunes. I took my painting and a reference photo, and blew it up into this larger piece, heavily stylizing many of the elements.
