The end Fay Canyon trail in Sedona, Arizona is marked with a sign nailed to a dead tree, reading "end of trail." I took the original reference after hiking the trail with my family while on our annual vacation. I was struck by this gorgeous rock formation that took like a guardian to the rest of the canyon. Lots of folks were climbing up it to get a better view, but I stayed at the bottom, observing folks that were tired and resting or waiting on the rest of their group so they could turn around and begin the hike back to the parking lot.
